As the weather has turned from winter straight to summer here in Oklahoma, I found myself wanting to be outside more. That coupled with the tumultuous cultural and societal landscape & the oversaturated noisy online world has led me to feeling a bit burnt out as we approach the mid-year mark for 2022. But instead of just telling myself to suck it up buttercup and go harder, I let myself slow down to speed up. And in this episode, I am going to share with you the benefits of allowing yourself to do just that.

I’ll be totally honest. The past several weeks have felt really chaotic and like I am on the verge of burnout. I have felt uninspired and really just wanted to spend time playing in the garden, keeping my home tidy, and working on some projects that I could control the outcome on.
And I’ll again be honest in saying that I have felt like a bit of a failure and a fraud because I have been burnt out and not wanting to work in my business. When what I teach i how to avoid just that.
But if I want to get out of the spiral of burn out, I know that I need to get two things right.
My mindset and slowing down. So let’s chat about those two things.
Chance to reflect
Do a bit of a Life audit
What am I feeling and why am I feeling that way?
Chance to recover & rest
Going really hard and off routines due to lots of unusual travel and projects
Productivity id about rest and actively moving the needle
Chance to regroup
Making space to really take a deep dive into what is working and what’s not
Taking time to really check in with what you want now compared to what you wanted 6 months ago and see what the last 6 months has taught you
Chance to reimagine
Passion and motivation can start to wane when you are in the thick of it and it can be super easy to forget what you are doing all this for.
Slowing down gives you the chance and space to reconnect and perhaps even take what you‘ve learned and experienced and integrate it into your vision and dream for yourself and how you can create that
Journaling time: Right now, I’m feeling… What I’d really love right now is… If I had a whole week to stop everything and just focus on me, i would spend it….
