She’s the type of person you can be telling all your deepest darkest secrets to one minute and then laughing so hard you are crying the next.

CEO OF THE WALL CALENDARS 
THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

So, I could have this feature just be about the amazing wall calendars that Neuyear produces & how I’ve used them for years and gifted them to clients & giveaway winners because I believe in them that much. But that wouldn’t be the whole story.

Last year around early May, I had pivoted so many times (hello 2020) , that I decided I needed to start fresh with my wall calendar since I had crossed out so many things and written over it (this was when I was using the paper version of the calendar). Fresh start. So I ordered a 2020 dry erase wall calendar from Neuyear. It arrived quickly as it always does, but when I opened it, it was a dry erase calendar for 2021. I sent Jesse an email to let him know, and he immediately personally responded with his apologies and promise of sending a replacement. When I asked if I needed to send the 2021 one back, he invited me to keep it. Then I waited a few days and the replacement arrived and it was the right year… but the wrong type. It was the paper version and not the dry erase one. So I reached out to Jesse again and he not only immediately responded that he was personally packing the correct package but he gave me a full refund and invited me to keep both of the calendars that had been sent by mistake. 

Now, maybe that sounds like the beginning of a bad Yelp review, but here is what it really was: service. Service from the CEO of a company who personally took responsibility for a mistake. I felt like I mattered and that is why Jesse is on this list. In a world where so many (no one on this list but many in the online space) are so focused on units sold and revenue made, it is how we make customers feel.

Mandy Liz

BRAND PHOTOGRAPHER MAGICIAN

Have you ever felt like you can’t invest in brand photos because you are Awkward with a capital “A” when you start posing and trying to bring out your inner model? That was me in 2019, when I had booked Mandy for my first ever brand shoot in Nashville. But she made me feel totally at ease and captured some amazing photos. Fast-forward to September 2021, when I had again booked Mandy to capture some new photos to prepare for my rebranded website launch.  

I was way more comfortable with Mandy this go around (she just makes you feel that way naturally, but at this point we had a great rapport built as well.), but it didn’t help that I was running behind and TBH, a bit hungover from the Jonas Brothers concert the night before. She showed up prepared & full of energy, a knight in shining armor with my Starbucks order in her hand. I went from not feeling my best & frazzled to calm, laughing, and putting out some good vibes— all of which Mandy captured perfectly. 

She comes at each shoot with the intention of getting photos that you can truly use— on your website, on social media, on book covers … and she makes it fun. All those photos of my laughing are genuine laughs after she said something that just sent me over the edge. And she captures it all. No awkward necessary.

Okay, Teresa is another person who I have heard about and followed & known about for awhile, but just recently met & got to know more. She and I first met in person in Nashville in August at Amber Housley’s Bloom & Grow Live and had a brief conversation. Jessica is such a light. I recently made her acquaintance at Amber Housley’s Inspired Retreat and we quickly became friends. Meaning every opportunity I had, I hung out with her. Not only does she have a laugh that is contagious, her humor, humility, and humanness makes you want to just be a part of her circle.

Not to mention the talent that she has. She was the event photographer for Inspired Retreat and let me tell you: she did an incredible job of capturing what the retreat was all about AND even gave us each our own little mini photoshoots so we each had gorgeous headshots to take away from the experience.
